Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Arrested In New York

Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City in connection with a federal sex trafficking investigation.

The music mogul was detained on Monday, following an indictment by a grand jury, although the exact charges remain unclear, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the decision to prosecute, calling it unjust. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving father, and dedicated philanthropist who has spent three decades building an empire, caring for his children, and supporting the Black community. He is not perfect, but he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo stated. He also noted that Combs has been fully cooperative with the investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges. “Please reserve judgment until all the facts are presented,” he added, emphasizing Combs’ innocence and commitment to clearing his name in court.

This isn’t the first time Combs has been in the news for legal issues. Recently, former bandmate Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault, battery, false imprisonment, withholding unpaid royalties, and stealing her copyrighted material.

Richard’s case is one of several allegations brought against Combs since last year when ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura filed a lawsuit accusing him of years of physical and sexual abuse. While that lawsuit was settled quickly, other accusers, including Liza Gardner, Joi Dickerson-Neal, and Crystal McKinney, have since come forward with similar claims.

In February, music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones also filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of harassment and trafficking. Combs moved to dismiss the case in August and has denied the other allegations, attributing them to individuals seeking financial gain, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Earlier this year, in March, federal authorities raided Combs’ properties as part of the ongoing human trafficking investigation.
